Buffi Painting was founded in 1983 by Mark Buffi, who continues to operate it to this day. We specialize in interior and exterior painting, cabinetry, faux finishes, and any customized painting project our clients need. It is our goal at Buffi Painting to provide our clients with a living space that is not just a custom-built house, but a place to call home.
Buffi Painting has served the San Francisco Bay Area for over 35 years working closely with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and general contractors. Our client-based referral method makes Buffi Painting perfectly tailored for homes in the mid-San Francisco Peninsula.

Mark Buffi
Founder and Owner
Mark Buffi created Buffi Painting in 1983. His passion for creating unique and specialized work drove him quickly into the custom home sector. His reputation for excellence allowed him to expand his services from solely the East Bay to the greater Bay Area.
Mark not only works to grow his company but the industry as a whole. He has been a member of the Painter Contractors Association since 1988. He has served as President of the Tamalpais Chapter in 1988, and as the President of Painting and Decorating Contractors of California in 2015.
Mark is motivated by the ever-changing painting practice and his desire to implement exclusive and original finishes for his clients. In Mark’s spare time, you can find him exploring wine regions across California with his wife, dining locally, or playing golf.
Derrick Buffi
Project Manager
Derrick Buffi grew up knowing how to prime and paint walls before he could drive a car. He had a knack for painting and continued to develop his skills, working for his father during the holiday and summer breaks throughout his education.
Upon graduating from San Jose State, he joined the Peace Corps and spent the next four and a half years teaching English in Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, and Senegal, West Africa. After returning home, he joined the family business where he has transferred his classroom management skills into production management.
Derrick enjoys working closely with staff members and engaging with clients. On the weekends you can find him enjoying the outdoors, doing the NYT crossword puzzle, and spending time with friends and family.
